The Premier League season is back in full swing now that the World Cup has ended and by the end of the year there are already plenty of standout players from many different teams. Here are the top 10 players as picked by the Soccer Alarm.





10. Alisson (Liverpool)

The only goalkeeper on this list deserves his spot, Alisson has not had many clean sheets this season, with only 4, but his saves have been keeping Liverpool in the top of the table, as their defending has not been good. Alisson’s incredible 1 on 1 and fingertip saves have been savaging draws and giving Liverpool wins all season.



9. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

While not as good as many people thought he would be this season, Mohamed Salah has been in good form this year for Liverpool. He has scored 7 goals while creating many chances for his teammates, which has earned him 5 assists this season.



8. Ivan Toney (Brentford)

The third highest goalscorer this season has been the Brentford player Ivan Toney, who has scored 11 times while racking up two assists. Some of these goals were scored in an extraordinary fashion, such as his hat trick against Leeds or his 97th minute winner against Manchester City. Sadly, Toney’s goals have not made up for the bee’s bad defending that has left them in 10th place.



7. Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)

Bukayo Saka has been crucial in Arsenal’s run for the title in the Premier League this season, he has controlled the flow of games with his attacking prowess in the midfield. Saka has the second highest amount of assists this season, coming in at 6, while also scoring 5 goals for himself.



6. Kieran Trippier (Newcastle)

Kieran Trippier has been one of the players who has made Newcastle such a powerhouse this season, as his defending skills have earned Newcastle 8 clean sheets in 17 games, and he has been creating chances in the offensive end as well. Trippier has 1 goal, 5 assists, and has created the most chances of any defender this season.



5. Harry Kane (Tottenham)

Harry Kane, a prolific striker for the English national team and Tottenham hotspur has netted 13 times in 16 games, his best ever start to a season, usually this would be monumental, but Kane, who has led his team through the season has only scored the second highest number of goals (Because of a certain Norwegian striker).



4. William Saliba (Arsenal)

The best defender of the 2022/2023 Premier campaign so far has definitely been William Saliba. The French defender has given Arsenal, the league leaders, many clean sheets and incredible defensive performances. He is not afraid to attack either, as shown by the fact that he has 2 goals, 1 assist, an amazing pass accuracy rate and the most line breaking passes of any Premier League player this season.



3. Miguel Almiron (Newcastle)

Miguel Almiron has been the changemaker for Newcastle’s team this season that has surprisingly made it into the the top 3 of Premier League clubs. Almiron’s explosive play has earned him 9 goals and an assist, putting him at 5th in the top scorer race, and his endless pressing has also led to other players on his team putting the ball into the back of the net.



2. Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City)

Kevin de Bruyne has the job at Manchester City of giving good passes to the man up front, Erling Haaland, and he has done an incredible job with this and has 9 assists. The Belgian has not strayed away from shooting, as his brilliance in dribbling and finishing have given him 3 goals so far this season.



1. Erling Haaland (Manchester City)

The summer transfer that got Erling Haaland to Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund has proved to be a good one for Manchester City, as they have one of the most gifted goalscorers in the world. The Norwegian striker has 18 goals, 6 higher than the second placed goalscorer, this is due to his amazing positioning, shooting dribbling and physicality, which has led Manchester City throughout the season.
