Though Luke Skywalker, one of the most powerful Jedi in Star Wars, has many skills, one of the skills he is best at is being a good pilot. Luke weaves his way through trenches while avoiding enemy ships and turrets and then he is able to make a perfect shot. This is similar to Messi’s dribbling skills, and the way he weaves around his opponents, leaving them baffled, while the Argentine takes a perfect shot to get the ball past the goalie.
Sergio Busquets- Han Solo

Han Solo, despite seeming selfish and reckless at times, has an undying loyalty to his friends, coming to their rescue more than once throughout the movies. Sergio Busquets also has loyalty in spades, in his senior career Busquets has only played for one team, FC Barcelona. The defender has played for the Catalans since 2008, where he has had no shortness of success, Busquets has won the La Liga 8 times and the Champions league 3 times with Barca.

Princess Leia, the strategist and thinker behind all of the rebels’ plans was one of, if not the, smartest character in Star Wars. Frank Lampard, the current Everton manager who famously played for Chelsea and England is very similar. Lampard is the smartest player in soccer, not only with clever playing and managing, but with IQ as well. The retired midfielder has an IQ of 150, putting him in the top .5% of people, for context, Albert Einstein scored a 160 on the test.

Yoda, a small, green, Jedi may be more similar to the Argentina and Napoli legend, Diego Maradona than you think. Yoda was small, but that didn’t stop him from being one of the most powerful Jedi in Star Wars. Maradona came in at 5’5 for height, small, especially for a soccer player in the 80’s and 90’s. Maradona was one of the best players ever, and definitely the best of his generation, and not only did he not let his height disrupt his game, but he used it and his low center of gravity to slip by defenders. He also ushered in a new era of smaller soccer players including Lionel Messi and Alexis Sanchez.
Sergio Ramos- Darth Vader

Sergio Ramos, a center back for the French side PSG does have some things in common with the big baddie in the Star Wars Universe. Both are quick to anger and are very aggressive, Darth Vader uses the force to attack people all the time, including his own allies. Sergio Ramos holds the record for the most red cards in La Liga history, a total of 20 red cards earned from when he played with Real Madrid.
Virgil Van Dijk- Obi Wan Kenobi

If you have watched soccer or Star Wars recently, then you will know that two of the best defenders in the world are Obi Wan Kenobi and Virgil Van Dijk. Obi Wan’s fighting strategy is to defend and deflect attacks at his opponents while preserving his own energy. Virgil Van Dijk, Liverpool and Netherlands’ center back is the best at his position, using his strength and height to get clean sheets and win games, while also tiring out his opponents, very similar to the powerful Jedi.
Haaland- C3PO and R2D2

C3PO and R2D2 are known for their bravery, smarts, and many more things, but from a more basic stand point, they are known as robots. Erling Haaland has a bizarre connection to the droids. Due to Haaland’s strength, skill, amazing scoring form, 17 goals in 11 matches, many fans of the Premier League and even fans of his own team, Manchester City, have a theory that Haaland is, well… a robot.
