Why is soccer so popular?

Soccer is the world's most popular sport (followed by Cricket, Basketball, and Field Hockey.) But why? Today you will find out.

Any one can play it. Rich or poor, or in the middle, anyone can play the beautiful game, you can play an organized game with a ball and nets, or you could just kick around a plastic bag tied up in string, with 2 rocks as a goal, and you don't even need to know the rules, if you just know how to score, and the no hands rule then you can play with your friends in your backyard or at a park, you can play anywhere!

Skills. With so many skills and techniques to learn and show off, it can be fun just to use a trick on someone or to shoot a wonderful free kick, it just comes with a feeling, like, "Wow, that was awesome, I have to do it again!"

It can be played by all ages. Sure, adults can kick it faster or higher, but this is a game for kids, adults, teens, babies, and seniors. (Actually, I take back babies and seniors, I don't want anyone getting hurt because of this blog post) Most people can just kick a ball, you don't need to be very good or old at it to play, you can have have fun playing soccer, as I said, if you now how to kick a ball.

The underdog can win. Most American sports, like football and basketball, are a very high scoring, so if the underdog scored first, the more dominate team could still come back easily. While in soccer, a lower scoring game, with games that end like 1-0, 2-0, 1-1 etc, if the underdog scored first, they would have a better chance of winning.

That is why soccer is the most popular sport in the world.
